For many people, ‘strategy’ is too big and complicated a concept.
But, whether you know it or not, you do already have a business strategy. It just might not be very good.
Or it might be good, but it’s not working because you’ve not been able to articulate it so that the people around you can understand it and engage in it.
Let’s keep it simple.
A business strategy is the sense of direction you establish, around which you’re forced to improvise.
You need to know precisely where you’re heading, even though you’ll need to walk around some obstacles on your journey.
In developing your business strategy, you’ll do some deep thinking on how to overcome the obstacles that will be in your way.
That should result in being able to state your strategy very simply. That’s the hallmark of a good strategy.
