Stockport Breakfast Club – New Leadership in 2010

I mentioned to Ben Poland, the current chair of Stockport Breakfast Club, that I’d be interested in taking over from him in 2010.

Breakfast Club is one of the regular networking events organised by Manchester Chamber. It’s a really friendly place to meet like-minded business people, and meets on the second Thursday of each month.

As there are other people who’d like to take over the chair, Ben asked me (and, I presume, the other people too) to send in some ideas on what I’d like to do if I was selected. This is what I sent him. I have two questions – after the slide show…

My Questions

  1. Did I forget to mention something important?
  2. Do you want to support me? If so, get in touch with your Manchester Chamber contact, look up Ben on LinkedIn and send him a message, or leave a comment below (I’ll make sure it’s seen).

Comments

  1. Thanks for the support, everyone. It has to be confirmed, but I understand I’ve been selected. Don’t know who by, and how, but I’m looking forward to doing this.

  2. Penny Lines says:

    Hi Matthew

You definitely have my vote! I think maybe a mention of the North West being a thriving business region less affected by the recessionary conditions – and of the Stockport Breakfast Club being a powerhouse for local business to “keep business local” in the area? Go for it and the very best of British!

  3. Kathy Ford says:

You would be perfect, I can’t think of a more suitable candidate.
    You have my vote.

  4. Keith Jones says:

I think you’d be perfect for the job. You have my vote.

  5. Jon Clements says:

    Matthew
Your case looks pretty comprehensive to me.
If there’s one thing you could add, it’s that your active presence on social networks such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and this blog, should be exposing you to new people who might be valuable both as new members of the breakfast club and experts the club can tap into.

    You get my vote.
